How do I make a deposit?

Instant Bank Transfer is easy to use.

  1. Select Instant Bank Transfer on the Merchant's cashier and follow the instructions to select your bank.
  2. Log in using your online banking credentials.
  3. After successfully logging in, select the account you want to deposit funds from.
  4. Confirm the deposit amount to complete the transaction. Funds should be available on the Merchant’s site instantly.

After the first time using Instant Bank Transfer, you can complete a deposit or a withdrawal without having to log in to your bank’s app or website again.

What currencies are supported?

Instant Bank Transfer supports deposits and withdrawals only in Canadian dollars (CAD).

What countries are supported?

Instant Bank Transfer is available only in Canada.

Who can use Instant Bank Transfer?

To use Instant Bank Transfer, you must be in Canada, 18 or older, and have a bank account at a Canadian financial institution.

Do I need an account to use Instant Bank Transfer?

You do not have to sign up for an account to use Instant Bank Transfer. By signing into your online banking you will authorize funds to be sent automatically.

Which banks are supported?

All Canadian banks and credit unions are supported.

How will the payment appear on my bank statement?

The exact description may vary by bank, but will always include PAYDIRECT and/or INSTANT BANK TRANSFER. They also include a reference number.

Are there any fees to use Instant Bank Transfer?

There are no fees to use Instant Bank Transfer.

I have used Instant Bank Transfer before. Why am I not prompted to choose my bank account and log in again?

We remember the bank account used from your first transaction (using a secure token) so you can make subsequent deposits with a single click. You have the option to use a different bank account by completing the bank selection and log in process.

I sent money using Instant Bank Transfer but my Merchant account isn't updated.

Usually, your deposit appears within the Merchant’s app or website within seconds. In some cases, it may take a few minutes. If the deposit is taking longer than this, please contact the Merchant’s support team.

What is my Instant Bank Transfer limit?

The limits are up to $100,000 CAD for both deposits and withdrawals. Actual limits may vary by user and by Merchant.

How do I make a withdrawal?

Instant Bank Transfer is easy to use. If it's your first time using Instant Bank Transfer:

  1. Select Instant Bank Transfer on the Merchant's cashier and follow the instructions to select your bank.
  2. Log in using your online banking credentials.
  3. After logging in successfully, select the bank account to deposit the funds.
  4. Confirm the withdrawal amount to complete the transaction. Funds should appear in your bank account within 2-5 business days.

After the first time using Instant Bank Transfer, you can complete a deposit or a withdrawal without having to log in to your bank’s app or website again.

If you already used Instant Bank Transfer to make a deposit, you can simply withdraw to that previously used bank account without having to select your bank and log in with just one click!

How will the withdrawal appear on my bank statement?

How long does it take to receive the funds in my bank account?

After you’ve completed the withdrawal on the Merchant’s app or website, it can take 2-5 business days for the funds to appear in your bank account. If you still haven’t received your funds after 5 days, contact PayDirect at [email protected] or through our live chat at pay-direct.ca.

I was unable to complete my withdrawal on the Merchant’s app or website. Can you explain why?
